6 practical tips to soothe eczema naturally for children and adults

The main causes of eczema are diverse, including allergies (food or other), stress, genetics, etc...

If the cause is not detected and if you do not use the right cosmetic products, the problem will persist...

Here I offer you some practical advice, starting by asking yourself these first questions:

  • Have you tested for food allergies or intolerances? If not, look in that direction by consulting your doctor.
  • What cosmetic products do you use on a daily basis? Are your products clean? do they contain ingredients that are beneficial to your skin?

Here are some practical tips to implement in your beauty routine:

😊 Choose the products that are right for you or more accessible to you.

Don't hesitate to try another one if one doesn't work, but be sure to test a product for at least 1 month to give your skin time to regenerate and for you to be sure that the product doesn't work.

1. The shower

Use an organic soap-free foaming gel or an organic soap-free bar, avoid synthetic perfumes and lanolin in the formulas. Otherwise, opt for a natural cold-saponified soap.

When showering, avoid hot water and long baths.

2. Vegetable oils and butters

Nourishing your skin as much as possible when you have eczema is very important.

  • Use the pure unrefined shea butter. You can possibly add some drops of essential oil of noble chamomile or geranium if no contraindication pregnancy or disease, to soothe itching.
  • Borage oil has anti-inflammatory properties that give it the ability to significantly reduce eczema, redness and itching.
  • If you have irritated skin, mix equal parts calophylla vegetable oil and calendula vegetable oil and add a few drops of lavender essential oil. Then apply this healthy mixture to the affected areas.
  • Black cumin oil also has softening and calming properties.

Essential oils contain very powerful concentrations of active ingredients. Therefore, their use on children under six years old is not recommended without medical advice. To use essential oils on babies and children, it is necessary to be particularly supervised, because some of them are forbidden to them.

  • The essential oil of bergamot has antibacterial, antiviral and antiseptic properties. It is indicated in case of cutaneous dermatosis such as eczema.
  • True lavander essential oil (officinal) has a power regenerating cutaneous and a healing action for all the problems of dermatosis, eczemas.
  • Essential oil of noblec hamomile or geranium will soothe your itching.
  • To disinfect and soothe itching, apply a compress of noble chamomile, fine lavender or cornflower hydrosol. You can also spray the hydrosol directly on the lesions.

4. Aloe Vera gel

Aloe Vera is used for its moisturizing healing and soothing properties therefore good in case of dehydration and eczema.

5. Clay

Powdering with white or green clay calms itching and facilitate the healing process efficiently. Use the surfine clay powder as a talcum powder on redness.

6. Epsom Salt

Epsom salt can help relieve eczema sufferers. It is composed of water and magnesium sulfate. Magnesium plays a role in regulating the body's enzymes. And because it is an electrolyte, magnesium sulfate can improve muscle and nerve function. It also ensures the proper use of calcium in the cells of our body.

In a treatment for eczema, it helps reduce skin inflammation and relieve pain.

A bath (not too long) is a great way for the body to receive magnesium because the skin can easily absorb it. More importantly, an Epsom salt bath has become popular in the treatment of eczema because it helps to remove unwanted acids from your skin.

Lastly i know it's difficult but scratching doesn't help... it aggravates and especially can cause a superinfection and we don't want that ^^
