Beautiful return: 5 natural rituals to welcome autumn with serenity
The return marks the return to routine, to projects, to commitments… but also to oneself. After the holidays, our body and mind need to rebalance. It’s the ideal time to slow down, take care of oneself, and adopt well-being rituals in harmony with the season.
In this article, I propose 5 natural cosmetic and well-being rituals for a gentle, bright, and aligned return with the energies of autumn.
🍃 1. Cleanse and regenerate your skin with an autumn scrub
Summer often leaves traces: thickened skin, uneven complexion, clogged pores. To start on a good foundation, begin with a gentle and nourishing scrub.
Homemade recipe:
- 1 tbsp of coffee grounds (toning and exfoliating)
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil (sweet almond or jojoba)
- 1 tsp of honey (moisturizing and antibacterial)
Apply to the face or body in circular motions, then rinse with lukewarm water. This treatment stimulates microcirculation and prepares the skin to receive seasonal care.
🌿 2. Moisturizing treatment with homemade flax gel
Flax gel is a wonder for hydrating, soothing, and regenerating the skin. It is rich in mucilages, which form a protective barrier and maintain hydration. This treatment is perfect for dull or dehydrated skin at the return.
Flax gel recipe:
- 2 tbsp of flax seeds
- 250 ml of water
Boil the seeds in water for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain hot using a stocking or fine sieve. You will obtain a transparent and slimy gel, to be kept cool for 1 week.
Usage:
Apply a thin layer on clean face, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. You can also use it as a serum under your day or night cream.
Tip: add a few drops of rose hydrosol or lavender for an even more soothing and sensory effect.
🕯️ 3. Create an evening ritual with a relaxing foot bath
The return can be stressful. Giving your body a moment of relaxation every evening helps to sleep better and release tensions.
Ritual:
- A basin of lukewarm water
- 2 tbsp of Epsom salt
- 5 drops of essential oil of lavender or sweet orange
Soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes, in a calm atmosphere (soft music, dim light). This moment becomes a true ritual of reconnection to oneself.
🍂 4. Prepare your autumn beauty kit
Autumn requires richer, more enveloping care. Here are some essentials to have in your kit:
- A nourishing vegetable oil (avocado, argan, hazelnut)
- A lip balm (made with beeswax and shea butter)
- A soothing hydrosol (chamomile, rose or lavender)
- An anti-stress roll-on with essential oils (lavender, petit grain, ylang-ylang)
